Capitec Bank has partnered with Dragonpass to introduce premium airport benefits for Capitec Credit Card clients, offering complimentary airport lounge access and dining vouchers when customers purchase eligible flights using their Capitec Credit Card.

In a differentiated approach, Capitec backdated the benefit for qualifying clients who had already purchased eligible flights on their Credit Card through 2025. The move positions the benefit as both a loyalty reward and a compelling reason for clients to place their trust in Capitec for future travel spend.

Access to the premium airport benefits is available through the Dragonpass app, where eligible clients can activate their membership and access their benefits digitally.

Rewarding travel spend with premium airport experiences

Capitec’s new travel benefit is designed to support clients throughout the airport journey, providing access to premium services at no extra cost. The partnership expands Capitec’s credit card proposition, aligning with growing demand for travel-led value, particularly among affluent and internationally mobile clients.

Eligible customers who booked flights worth R1,500 on their Capitec Credit Card in 2025 receive:

  • 24 free airport lounge visits per year - 12 international and 12 domestic

  • The option to convert lounge visits into a dining voucher at participating airport restaurants globally

  • The ability to share lounge visits with travel companions

The partnership expands Capitec’s credit card proposition, aligning with growing demand for travel-led value, particularly among affluent and internationally mobile clients.

A differentiated model for credit card rewards

While lounge access has traditionally been positioned as a premium-tier benefit, Capitec’s approach links rewards directly to real travel spend, offering customers tangible value when purchasing flights with their Capitec Credit Card.

By recognising eligible flight purchases made throughout 2025, Capitec has introduced a launch model that accelerates customer adoption from day one. Rather than requiring customers to wait for future travel purchases, qualifying clients can access benefits immediately, supporting stronger engagement and faster programme uptake.

Activation and access through Dragonpass

Eligible Capitec Credit Card customers who have booked an eligible flight, simply sign into the Capitec app, tap rewards and navigate to Dragonpass where they receive a membership ID and activation code. Once activated in the Dragonpass app, customers can generate lounge passes, access participating airport restaurants, and manage their benefits in-app.
